Fluid ounces show jar space, while wax ounces show weight for a given candle vessel. A wax factor links the two. Each wax or blend can use a different factor, so jar space and wax weight are not the same number.

What Fragrance Load Should A Candle Use?

Use the scent load set by the wax and oil maker for each wax blend. CandleScience suggests a 6% start for AAK 464 soy wax and lists 10% as the max for that wax. More oil may hurt the burn and may not give a stronger scent.
